You’ve been contrary to your stepmother for the last time. She confronts you about your disheveled looks. You shame the family going out looking like a hooligan. You should be dressed properly and look upstanding all the time. After all, you represent the entire family as well as yourself. She tried to give you an out by getting you an appointment to get your long shaggy hair cut with her friend at the salon, but you never showed. Now it’s in her hands and you don’t get a say about what happens to your hair. She has you strip down and sit in a chair while she buzzes off all your hair with her electric clippers. Your hair is going to stay like that as long as you’re staying in her house. No amount of crying or fighting will change that.
